A Message from CEO Jenny Johnson

March 17, 2020

To our valued clients:

Above all else, the COVID-19 pandemic is a worldwide humanitarian issue, but it is also accompanied by significant economic fallout. As financial markets continue to experience extreme volatility, we know that the global market situation may get worse before it gets better.

With that in mind, I want to personally let you know that we are continuously monitoring the situation and are committed to working with you and providing our full support during these challenging times.

Our investment professionals based around the globe are actively monitoring every angle of this fast-moving situation. First and foremost, their primary responsibility during this period of unprecedented volatility is ensuring that the portfolios and platforms they manage are resilient, robust, and effectively meeting clients’ investment objectives.

In addition, they will provide updated insights and analysis to add important context to the impact on client portfolios several times a week on our website. Our new web page, Investment Insights on Coronavirus and Volatility, contains a curated collection of the most relevant resources, making it easier for you to find what you need. To complement, your relationship managers will proactively provide relevant updates and market commentary as the situation continues to evolve.

With office and school closures increasing and travel curtailed, we understand “business as usual” is not an option. Your relationship manager has the resources and technology to help you remotely.

Lastly, I want to assure you that at Franklin Templeton we have strong and well-tested business continuity plans in place to serve our clients and protect our staff. The company is now in the process of implementing its COVID-19 contingency response for all sites and business units. We are fully operational and are confident in our ability to respond to any future challenges.

This is a very fluid situation and we’re taking all necessary steps to better address the unexpected and continue working by your side as the best partner possible.

Stay healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Jenny Johnson
