Send us a form signed by your non-resident clients and we’ll tax their withdrawals and distributions at a reduced rate.
If we don’t have a form on file – and if the country your client resides in doesn’t have a tax treaty with Canada – the higher legislated withholding tax rate of 25% will be applied.

When does the form expire?
This declaration expires on December 31 three years after the form is signed and dated OR when there is a change to the taxpayer’s eligibility for the declared benefits – whichever is earlier.
What if there are multiple account holders? Who needs to submit a form?
Each holder must complete a separate non-resident tax form for a lower withholding tax rate to be applied to account transactions.
What happens if there’s a change in your client’s circumstances?
If a change in circumstances – like an address change – makes any information on the form incorrect, you and your clients must fill out a new form or call us to cancel to old one.
